G4S PLC said late Tuesday that Allied Universal Topco LLC has extended its offer for the U.K. security company until Feb. 9 after receiving acceptances from less than 1% of the target's shareholders.
G4S on Dec. 8 said that it had reached an agreement to sell itself to U.S. rival Allied Universal in a deal worth 3.8 billion pounds ($5.22 billion). Canada's Garda World Security Corp. has also made an offer for G4S.
Allied said it had received valid acceptances in respect of shares representing around 0.84% of the issued share capital of G4S as of 1300 GMT on Tuesday.
