Buoyed by strong returns for shares of American Express and Boeing, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Monday afternoon. Shares of American Express (NYS:AXP) and Boeing (NYS:BA) are contributing to the blue-chip gauge's intraday rally, as the Dow (DOW:DJIA) is trading 272 points higher (1.0%). American Express's shares are up $3.27, or 3.2%, while those of Boeing have risen $4.04, or 2.5%, combining for an approximately 48-point bump for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include Visa (NYS:V) , Apple Inc. (NAS:AAPL) , and UnitedHealth (NYS:UNH) . A $1 move in any of the Dow's 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
