The U.S. government said Wednesday that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will be giving about $22 billion in funding to states and territories to support COVID-19 testing and the vaccine rollout by Jan. 19. The funding comes from the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act. About $19 billion is intended to support testing, contact tracing, and surveillance activities, while $3 billion will be dispensed for vaccination activities, the Department of Health and Human Services said in a statement.
