Shares of Chevron /zigman2/quotes/205871374/composite CVX -1.07% and Caterpillar /zigman2/quotes/203434128/composite CAT -0.34% are contributing about a quarter of the index's intraday rally, as the Dow /zigman2/quotes/210598065/realtime DJIA -0.29% was most recently trading 330 points (1.2%) higher. Chevron's shares have risen $6.37, or 4.4%, while those of Caterpillar have risen $4.91 (3.0%), combining for an approximately 74-point bump for the Dow. Verizon Communications Inc. /zigman2/quotes/204980236/composite VZ -0.51% , Home Depot /zigman2/quotes/208081807/composite HD -0.02% , and Dow Inc. /zigman2/quotes/203121064/composite DOW +0.60% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.59-point swing.
