Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. /zigman2/quotes/200781108/composite CMG +1.20% said Wednesday that it plans to add a total of 10,000 new hires, with 8,000 positions filled since hiring began in May. During the coronavirus pandemic, Chipotle has seen its digital orders grow 80% year-over-year, with digital becoming an increasingly significant part of the fast-casual chain's business. New hires will help the company manage business growth. Chipotle also continues to add Chipotlanes, drive-thru order pickup lanes, to restaurants across the country, with the 100th Chipotlane launching in Ohio. Chipotle shares have rallied 31.8% for the year to date while the S&P 500 index /zigman2/quotes/210599714/realtime SPX +1.40% is down 1% for the period.
