Netflix has a ton of returning fan-favorite series coming in October, including the long-awaited final season of “Derry Girls,” along with a slew of buzzy original movies and documentaries.
After a three-year layoff, the endearing teen comedy “Derry Girls” (Oct. 7) returns for its third and final season, which aired earlier this year in the U.K. Set amid The Troubles of 1990s Northern Ireland, the final seven episodes find the gang — Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Nicola Coughlan, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Louisa Harland and Dylan Llewellyn — beginning their final year at Our Lady Immaculate College in the wake of the Good Friday accord.
Other new series of note include Season 7 of the baking-disaster show “Nailed It!” (Oct. 5); a reboot of the reality show “The Mole” (Oct. 7); “The Midnight Club” (Oct. 7), a horror series from Mike Flanagan (creator of “Midnight Mass” and “The Haunting of Hill House”); “Inside Man” (date TBA), a mystery starring David Tennant and Stanley Tucci; Season 6 of the raunchy yet heartfelt animated series “Big Mouth” (Oct. 28); Season 6 of the warmly comforting food/travel show “Somebody Feed Phil” (Oct. 18); Volume 3 of the rebooted “Unsolved Mysteries” (Oct. 18); Season 3 of the addictive dating show “Love Is Blind” (Oct. 19, with new eps every week); the horror anthology series “Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities” (Oct. 25); and Season 3 of the Nordic noir crime series “Deadwind” (Oct. 29).

On the movie side, Netflix /zigman2/quotes/202353025/composite NFLX -0.38% has “The Good Nurse” (Oct. 26), a true-crime, serial-killer thriller starring Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne; “Wendell & Wild” (Oct. 28), a fantastical, stop-motion animated extravaganza from director Henry Selick (“Coraline”), starring Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele as demons from Hell; the Korean teenage romance “20th Century Girl” (Oct. 21); “The Curse of Bridge Hollow” (Oct. 14), a ghostly comedy starring Marlon Wayans; a new adaptation of the WWI classic “All Quiet on the Western Front” (Oct. 28); and “The School for Good and Evil” (Oct. 19), a fantasy adventure from director Paul Feig (“Bridesmaids”) and starring Sophia Anne Caruso, Sofia Wylie and Charlize Theron.
There are also new standup comedy specials from Iliza Shlesinger (Oct. 11), Gabriel Iglesias (Oct. 18) and Fortune Feimster (Oct. 25); and documentaries such as “The Trapped 13: How We Survived The Thai Cave” (Oct. 5); “ Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes” (Oct. 7); and “The Redeem Team” (Oct. 7), about the U.S. men’s basketball team’s quest for gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Also of note: All six seasons of the beloved Canadian comedy “Schitt’s Creek” are leaving Oct. 2, and moving to their new home at Hulu .
