Dragged down by negative returns for shares of American Express and Dow Inc., the Dow Jones Industrial Average is in a selloff Monday afternoon. The Dow (DOW:DJIA) was most recently trading 543 points lower (-2.0%), as shares of American Express (NYS:AXP) and Dow Inc. (NYS:DOW) are contributing to the index's intraday decline. American Express's shares are off $5.35 (5.2%) while those of Dow Inc. have fallen $2.52, or 5.0%, combining for an approximately 52-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include 3M (NYS:MMM) , Caterpillar (NYS:CAT) , and Honeywell International Inc. (NYS:HON) . A $1 move in any of the index's 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
