Microsoft's shares have gained $5.70 (2.8%) while those of Apple Inc. have climbed $9.80 (2.2%), combining for a roughly 106-point boost for the Dow. UnitedHealth /zigman2/quotes/210453738/composite UNH +1.00% , Home Depot /zigman2/quotes/208081807/composite HD -1.70% , and Merck /zigman2/quotes/209956077/composite MRK +0.20% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the Dow's 30 components results in a 6.86-point swing.
