Shares of Caterpillar and UnitedHealth are seeing strong returns Tuesday afternoon, propelling the Dow Jones Industrial Average rally. Shares of Caterpillar (NYS:CAT) and UnitedHealth (NYS:UNH) have contributed to the index's intraday rally, as the Dow (DOW:DJIA) was most recently trading 450 points (1.7%) higher. Caterpillar's shares have risen $4.78, or 3.7%, while those of UnitedHealth have risen $9.44 (3.1%), combining for a roughly 98-point bump for the Dow. Travelers (NYS:TRV) , Chevron (NYS:CVX) , and Exxon Mobil (NYS:XOM) are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow equates to a 6.86-point swing.
