Shares of American Express /zigman2/quotes/203805826/composite AXP +0.19% and Microsoft /zigman2/quotes/207732364/composite MSFT -1.10% have contributed to the blue-chip gauge's intraday rally, as the Dow /zigman2/quotes/210598065/realtime DJIA -0.59% is trading 348 points, or 1.3%, higher. American Express's shares are up $3.09 (3.0%) while those of Microsoft are up $4.69, or 2.3%, combining for a roughly 51-point boost for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are Visa /zigman2/quotes/203660239/composite V -1.71% , UnitedHealth /zigman2/quotes/210453738/composite UNH +0.48% , and McDonald's /zigman2/quotes/203508018/composite MCD -0.91% . A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.58-point swing.
