The Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Thursday afternoon with shares of Goldman Sachs and Apple Inc. seeing positive momentum for the blue-chip average. Shares of Goldman Sachs (NYS:GS) and Apple Inc. (NAS:AAPL) have contributed around a quarter of the index's intraday rally, as the Dow (DOW:DJIA) was most recently trading 43 points, or 0.2%, higher. Goldman Sachs's shares have risen $9.47, or 5.1%, while those of Apple Inc. are up $1.51, or 1.4%, combining for a roughly 72-point bump for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include Microsoft (NAS:MSFT) , Coca-Cola (NYS:KO) , and Merck (NYS:MRK) . A $1 move in any of the Dow's 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
