A newly built home that runs completely on solar power energy in West Palm Beach, Florida, is coming onto the market for $17.75 million, Mansion Global has learned.
The three-story contemporary house was also built with extra-large footers, reinforced steel, poured concrete floors and concrete-filled block to withstand the strongest of storms, according to Burt Minkoff of Douglas Elliman, who is listing the property Wednesday.
The 15,000-square-foot residence has six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and open-floor living and dining rooms. It also comes with a theater room, a gym, a private guest house, a home office, a pool and a four-car air-conditioned garage, according to the listing.

Designed by developer Steve Bendat of Aquantis Group Development and local architect David Lawrence , the home features an interior “floating” glass staircase, an outdoor stainless-steel circular staircase, an all-glass indoor elevator with back-lit onyx surround, as well as a commercial exterior elevator, according to the listing.
Mr. Bendat is known for developing luxury real estate, combining cutting-edge technology with timeless designs. Last year, he sold a newly constructed home in West Palm Beach for $11.5 million, making it the most expensive single-family home in the city. The listing was also handled by Mr. Minkoff .
This one, being offered for $17.75 million, is poised to break the price record for a single-family home, according to Mr. Minkoff and the Multiple Listing Service .
Mr. Bendat, who was not immediately available for comment, bought the land via a limited liability company for more than $1.3 million in 2015, property records show.
While the residential compound is completely solar powered, it has a 70-kilowatt generator for emergencies. The home is also pre-wired with fiber optic cable capable of transmitting 8K video to every room and patio.
“A fully integrated Savant System allows you to operate the entire house from your phone, including the five fireplaces, all of the shades, TVs and stereos, no matter where you are,” Mr. Minkoff said.
West Palm Beach, located within Palm Beach County, has experienced a surge in housing demand since the Covid-19 pandemic, Mr. Minkoff said.
“The past six months have redefined what people are looking for in a home,” he said. “The Florida market has exploded with new buyers looking to escape crowded urban areas and large condo buildings for locations with greater flexibility to be outdoors and independence to use amenities.”
