General Electric Co. /zigman2/quotes/208495069/composite GE -1.79% said Monday that it Deloitte was selected as its new independent auditor in 2021, replacing KPMG, which will stay on through completion of the 2020 annual report. The change concludes the tender process for the appointment of a new audit firm announced on Dec. 14, 2018. The industrial conglomerate said at the time that the process was started after the annual auditor ratification vote as the shareholder's meeting in April 2018 was "significantly lower" than prior years, with 65% of the votes in favor of KPMG. GE's stock, which gained 0.7% in premarket trading, has lost 35.9% year to date through Friday, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average /zigman2/quotes/210598065/realtime DJIA -0.29% has lost 9.4%.
