Getlink SE said Tuesday that passenger traffic fell sharply in February from a year earlier as travel restrictions imposed by the French and British governments to fight the spread of the coronavirus pandemic continued to weigh.
The French operator of the Channel Tunnel between the U.K. and France posted an 81% drop in passenger vehicles for last month to 31,277.
In the first two months of the year, passenger traffic was down 76%.
Truck traffic also declined, hit by new rules brought about by Brexit. The market is "still marked by the adjustments to new post-Brexit administrative rules, but with a trend towards normalization," it said.
