Hulu is bringing back two of its best series in November, along with a slate of holiday movies.

The “anti-historical” satire “The Great” (Nov. 19) returns for its second season, with Gillian Anderson joining the cast as the mother of Catherine the Great (Elle Fanning), who seize the Russian throne from her husband, Peter (Nicholas Hoult), and tries to spread the Enlightenment to her country.

Padma Lakshmi is also back with “Taste the Nation: Holiday Edition” (Nov. 4), a four-episode special, exploring the American food traditions of Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Nochebuena (Christmas Eve) and Seollal (Lunar New Year).

UPDATED: Disney /zigman2/quotes/203410047/composite DIS +3.51% -controlled Hulu also has “The Informant: Fear and Faith in the Heartland” (Nov. 1), an ABC News documentary from George Stephanopoulos about a foiled militia terrorist attack against Muslim immigrants in the Midwest; a new season of the animated reboot “Animaniacs” (Nov. 5); “The Curse of Von Dutch” (Nov. 18), a docuseries examining the rise and fall of the trendy 2000s fashion brand; “Pig” (Nov. 26), starring Nicholas Cage as a reclusive truffle hunter who tracks down the people who stole his prize pig; and a ton of made-for-TV holiday movies, largely coming in one big content dump Nov. 15.

ANOTHER UPDATE: And one late addition: There’s a “Solar Opposites” holiday special coming Nov. 22, as the foul-mouthed alien family learns “WTF is Christmas?”
