Hugo Boss AG said late Thursday that it is talks with former Tommy Hilfiger Global and PVH Europe Chief Executive Daniel Grieder to succeed Mark Langer as its chief executive.
The German premium-apparel retailer said the personnel committee of the supervisory board is conducting talks with Mr. Grieder to potentially replace Mr. Langer, who is set to leave the managing board on Sept. 30.
The announcement comes just days after Mr. Langer told shareholders during the company's annual meeting that the company is seeking to free up 600 million euros ($675.9 million) of extra cash flow in 2020 in a bid to bolster its finances against the hit from the coronavirus pandemic.
The company has been able to reopen a few stores in Europe, but business is still under pressure in its core European and Americas markets.
