LafargeHolcim Ltd. on Friday said its profit increased in the third quarter, as earning grew across regions while costs fell.

The Swiss cement maker's recurring earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization without the effects of the IFRS16 accounting standard rose 1.9% to 1.445 billion Swiss francs ($1.58 billion). That compared with CNY1.418 billion in the year-earlier period.

Third-quarter net sales slid 9.6% to CHF6.455 billion, the company said.

While uncertainties related to Covid-19 weigh on its outlook, LafargeHolcim expects resilient demand in the fourth quarter, it said.
