After closing all the stores in mid-March as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, less than 15% of the stores are currently open. In Greater China, the company said all of its 288 stores are open, with sales in April and May about flat to a year ago at Versace and Jimmy Choo stores, and at about 80% of year-ago levels at Michael Kors stores. The company said in its reopened stores, all store employees will be provided with face masks and gloves, store capacity will be limited and use of credit cards and contactless payments will be encouraged. The stock, which rose 3.6% in premarket trading, has tumbled 30.9% over the past three months through Wednesday, while the S&P 500 /zigman2/quotes/210599714/realtime SPX +1.60% has gained 2.8%.
