Motorola Solutions Inc. said profit fell in the fiscal second quarter on lower sales though the Covid-19 pandemic helped drive up demand in its software and services segment.

The company said net income was $135 million, or 78 cents a share, down from $207 million, or $1.18 a share, a year earlier. Adjusted earnings were $1.39 a share. Analysts surveyed by FactSet projected $1.21 a share in adjusted profit.
