Nasdaq Composite turns higher, but new lows are about 4 times new highs

The Nasdaq Composite (AMERICAN:COMP) has bounced into positive territory in morning trading Monday, but market breadth remains firmly negative, with stocks hitting new lows outnumbering those hitting new highs by about 4 to 1. The number of advancing stocks on the Nasdaq exchange outnumbered decliners 1,626 to 1,024, volume in declining stock represented 55.6% of total volume and 67 stocks hit new 52-week lows while 18 reached new 52-week highs. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite was up 0.1%, after being down as much as 0.3% earlier in the session.
