Orpea climbs as nursing-home provider ups guidance

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Shares of Orpea rose after the French nursing home care provider reported a 31% sales rise during the second quarter, to 170.3 million euros ($267 million), and revised up its annual sales goal to 680 million euros. Orpea previously estimated 2008 ssales of 665 million euros. "The first half performance shows the solidity of our model and its independence from current economic and financial problems," said Chairman and CEO Jean-Claude Marian.
