Ryan Seacrest, the TV personality, radio host and producer, is parting with his sprawling Beverly Hills compound after listing it Monday for $85 million.
Billed in the listing as “one of Beverly Hills most private and secluded estates,” the property has been home to Mr. Seacrest , 45, since 2012, when he bought it from fellow television bigwig Ellen DeGeneres for $36.5 million, property records show.
The home is “like a beautiful painting, you can't help but notice its beauty,” said Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency, who is handling the sale. “It's perfectly proportioned and it’s set in the middle of incredible gardens. It just has a great calming feeling to it.”
It’s among the priciest homes for sale in one of the the most high-end real estate markets in the U.S.
And importantly, the home is tasteful, too. “It’s not over-the-top ostentatious,” Mr. Rappaport said. “It’s the opposite.”
The center of the contemporary estate is it’s light-filled main house, which spans 9,000 square feet and is fitted with four bedrooms, six bathrooms and beamed ceilings. There are also fireplaces, a home cinema and an office.
During his more than eight-year tenure, Mr. Seacrest “updated the house with state-of-the-art amenities,” Mr. Rappaport said, of the home built in 1963. “He really kept the integrity and beauty [of the home] but updated it for his own personal lifestyle.”
The compound, on more than three acres, has plenty of room for other buildings, too. There are two guest houses, a pool and an accompanying pool house, a separate fitness facility and an underground garage, according to the listing.
“Home is as important as it's ever been,” Mr. Rappaport said. This one not only has “the amenities so you never have to leave, [but] they’re spread out over different buildings,” he added.
According to TMZ, who first reported the listing, Mr. Seacrest is spending the majority of his time in New York, where he co-hosts ABC’s “Live with Kelly and Ryan.”
Along with his gig on the morning talk show, Mr. Seacrest hosts ABC’s “American Idol,” and his radio program “On Air with Ryan Seacrest .” He also produces the reality TV show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
A representative for Mr. Seacrest didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
