Should retirees even consider private equity?

Retirees are looking for alternatives to traditional asset classes

A new study sheds fascinating insight into the role private equity should play in a retiree’s portfolio.

I’m referring, of course, to investments in companies that are not publicly traded. Such investments historically have been made through private equity funds that have not been available to individual retirees. But this may soon change, given Vanguard’s decision earlier this year to offer a private equity option to its clients.
