LONDON--Technology company Smiths Group PLC (SMIN.LN) on Tuesday said revenue for the year ended July 31 is expected to be above both expectations and the previous year, reflecting a stronger operational performance, principally in Smiths Detection, and the favorable impact of a stronger U.S. dollar.
Full year headline operating profit is also anticipated to be above expectations but below 2015 levels.
Expectations for 2017 remain unchanged, excluding the potential foreign exchange translation benefit from the weaker British pound should current rates continue.
Shares closed Monday at 1,290 pence.
