S&P 500, Dow industrials press gap support ahead of the Fed

Focus: Crude oil challenging major support, USO, OIH, XLE, UNP, HA, WUBA, SONS

U.S. stocks are slightly lower early Wednesday, pressured ahead of the Federal Reserve’s policy statement, due out this afternoon, and as crude-oil prices challenge major support.

In the process, the S&P 500 and Dow industrials are pressing near-term floors — around S&P 2,380 and Dow 20,910, respectively — against an otherwise bullish bigger-picture backdrop.
