U.S. stocks fell at the start of Wednesday's trade as investors eyed a stream of high-profile corporate earnings and also a Federal Reserve policy update later in the afternoon. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DOW:DJIA) fell 330 points, or 1.1%, to 30,607. The S&P 500 (S&P:SPX) was down 51 points, or 1.3%, to 3,798. The Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQ:COMP) shed 202 points, or 1.5%, to 13,434. The Fed is expected to commit to its accommodative policy stance to support the U.S. recovery. In company news, Microsoft (NAS:MSFT) shares were up slightly after its results topped analyst expectations.
