SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Among the companies whose shares are likely to see active trading Thursday are Dell, Heinz, Smithfield Foods and Sears.

Dell Inc. /zigman2/quotes/203822527/composite DELL -1.88% is forecast to report fourth-quarter earnings of 35 cents a share, according to analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial.

H.J. Heinz Co. is estimated to report earnings of 67 cents a share in the fiscal second quarter.

Smithfield Foods Inc. is expected to post earnings of 21 cents a share in the fiscal second quarter.

Sears Holdings Corp. is projected to report third-quarter earnings of 50 cents a share.

Del Monte Foods Co. is estimated to post second-quarter earnings of 17 cents a share.

Fred's Inc. is expected to post third-quarter earnings of 14 cents a share.

Cost Plus Inc. is expected to report a loss of 77 cents a share in the third quarter.

Warner Music Group Corp. is estimated to post fourth-quarter earnings of 2 cents a share.

J. Crew Group Inc. is projected to post earnings of 36 cents a share in the third quarter.

Atwood Oceanics Inc. is forecast to report fourth-quarter earnings of $1.43 a share.

Genesco /zigman2/quotes/203016164/composite GCO -3.35% is estimated to report third-quarter earnings of 54 cents a share.

Brocade Communications Systems Inc. is expected to post first-quarter earnings of 13 cents a share.

Gerber Scientific Inc. is forecast to report second-quarter earnings of 14 cents a share.
