AlphaSmart Inc. reported late Tuesday a fourth-quarter loss of $220,000, or 1 cent a share. In the same period last year, it earned $413,000, or 4 cents a share. Revenue was $6.8 million vs. $8.3 million.
American International Group /zigman2/quotes/203700638/composite AIG -1.42% is seen posting fourth-quarter earnings of $1.13 a share.
Amkor Technology Inc. /zigman2/quotes/204596393/composite AMKR -1.64% reported a fourth-quarter loss of $36.1 million, or 21 cents a share. Last year, it earned $22.6 million, or 13 cents a share. Revenue was $453.3 million vs. $458.9 million. Analysts expected a loss of 19 cents a share on revenue of $455 million. For the first quarter, it forecast a loss of 34 cents to 40 cents a share and revenue to be in the range of 8 percent to 12 percent lower than in the fourth quarter.
Aon Corp. reported fourth-quarter earnings fell 12 percent to $188 million, or 56 cents a share, from $214 million, or 65 cents a share, a year ago. Net income from continuing operations was $192 million, or 57 cents a share, compared with $216 million, or 65 cents a share. Analysts expected earnings of 45 cents a share. Revenue was $2.66 billion vs. $2.57 billion.
