Kelley Blue Book tests every truck on the market and rates each one based on its merits. Here are the 12 trucks that top the charts for our editors and scored big with the staff when it comes to capability, reliability, comfort, technology, and more.

2021 Toyota Tundra

Expert Rating: 3.9 /5

The Toyota Tundra presents a good value in full-size pickup trucks. It has the rock-solid dependability that Toyota /zigman2/quotes/200537742/composite TM +0.17% trucks are famous for. It also delivers modern technology, roomy seats, and ample power from its standard V-8 engine.

2021 Nissan Titan

Expert Rating: 4 / 5

The Nissan /zigman2/quotes/207656007/composite NSANY -0.75% Titan has unique styling, an intuitive infotainment system, and a fantastic warranty. It also has nimble driving characteristics for such a big truck. There’s only one engine available, but it’s a strong V8 that makes 400 horsepower.

2021 Jeep Gladiator

Expert Rating: 4 / 5

For a midsize pickup that’s a little different, consider the Jeep Gladiator. It has the distinct, military-inspired styling of the Wrangler with the added functionality of a truck bed. It also has the off-road chops you would expect from a Jeep and comes standard with four-wheel drive.

Don’t miss: Cars that cost more than $200,000

2021 Chevrolet Colorado

Expert Rating: 4.1 / 5

The capable Chevy Colorado is a well-rounded midsize pickup with three engine options, including a diesel. An update for the 2021 model year brings revised styling giving it a more rugged look, most notably on the off-road-ready ZR2 model. There are also new features and appearance options.

2021 GMC Canyon

Expert Rating: 4.2 / 5

The GMC Canyon is the mechanical twin of the Chevy Colorado. It has more of a chiseled appearance, especially with the styling update for 2021. GMC added an AT4 trim with off-road upgrades like skid plates, an off-road suspension, and standard four-wheel drive.

2021 GMC Sierra 1500

Expert Rating: 4.2 / 5

The GMC Sierra 1500 is as classy and rugged as ever. This truck brings premium panache to the full-size pickup segment, especially in the luxurious Denali model. One of the Sierra’s standout innovation is the MultiPro six-function tailgate. There are also nice towing features like hitch guidance and a trailer tire pressure monitoring system.

2021 Honda Ridgeline

Expert Rating: 4.3 / 5

There’s nothing else on the market that’s quite like the Honda /zigman2/quotes/207173990/composite HMC +0.26% Ridgeline. That’s why we like it. It’s a midsize pickup that has the roomy cabin and smooth ride of a crossover. A mid-cycle refresh for 2021 gives the Ridgeline a more traditional trucklike appearance while retaining its unique unibody architecture.

2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Expert Rating: 4.3 / 5

A range of engine and trim options makes the Chevy Silverado 1500 one of the most versatile trucks available. With a turbo-four, a diesel, a V6, and two V8 engines available, there’s a Silverado for everyone. For 2021, the Multi-Flex six-function tailgate has been added as an option on the Silverado.

2021 Ram 1500

The insane 702-horsepower TRX model joined the lineup for 2021, but the tamer V6 and non-supercharged V8 engines are excellent too. They deliver a satisfying blend of capability and efficiency.

2021 Toyota Tacoma
