Apple /zigman2/quotes/202934861/composite AAPL -6.54%  shares are climbing on upbeat earnings and a holiday forecast, though iPhone revenue fell again. Meanwhile, its trade-in program is booming.

Facebook /zigman2/quotes/205064656/composite FB -3.78%  stock is surging on a revenue leap. On the earnings call, CEO Mark Zuckeberg leaped to the defense of political ads, and touched on antitrust probes.

Earnings for Thursday include chemicals giant DuPont /zigman2/quotes/203606582/composite DD -4.02% , food processing group Archer Daniels /zigman2/quotes/203479136/composite ADM -5.64% and food group Kraft Heinz /zigman2/quotes/203625533/composite KHC -2.61%  .

Fiat Chrysler /zigman2/quotes/204248628/composite FCAU -1.12%   /zigman2/quotes/209202731/delayed IT:FCA -1.82%  shares are climbing, but those of PSA Peugeot /zigman2/quotes/203546414/delayed FR:UG -1.89%  are down after the two companies announced a 50/50 merger.
