Will Quince, Minister for Children and Families, on Wednesday became the third cabinet member to step down in 24 hours in protest over Prime Minister Boris Johnson's handling of a sexual misconduct scandal. Quince announnced his resignation to Johnson on Twitter after saying he "accepted and repeated assurances on Monday to the media which have now been found to be inaccurate." Treasury chief Rishi Sunak and Health Secretary Sajid Javid both resigned on Tuesday after Johnson had to backtrack on earlier statements about an alleged scandal involving former deputy chief whip Chris Pincher that has plagued the government for the past six days.
