May 02, 2019 (MarketNewsVideo.com via COMTEX) -- As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy — they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Monday, Amyris (AMRS)'s Director, Frank Kung, made a $4.35M purchase of AMRS, buying 913,529 shares at a cost of $4.76 a piece. Investors are able to snag AMRS even cheaper than Kung did, with the stock changing hands as low as $4.22 in trading on Thursday which is 11.3% under Kung's purchase price. Amyris is trading up about 4.8% on the day Thursday.
And on Tuesday, Director Thomas G. Sloan bought $207,272 worth of First Busey Corp (BUSE), buying 8,000 shares at a cost of $25.91 a piece. First Busey Corp is trading up about 1.2% on the day Thursday. So far Sloan is in the green, up about 1.3% on their buy based on today's trading high of $26.25.
