TOKYO (MarketWatch) -- Toyota Motor Corp. said Friday it expects to sell 9.58 million vehicles globally on a group-wide basis in 2012, up 21% from a year earlier.

In addition to Toyota, the Japanese auto maker's group includes Daihatsu Motor Co. and Hino Motors .

Toyota said it expects domestic group sales to rise 30% to 2.32 million vehicles and overseas group sales to increase 18% to 7.26 million vehicles.
