TriNet Group's Q3 profit falls on higher expenses

TriNet Group Inc. said profit fell in the third quarter on higher expenses as total worksite employees decreased 3% from the year ago as businesses contend with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The human resources and consultancy services provider said profit was $33 million, or 48 cents a share, down from $55 million, or 78 cents a share, in the year-earlier quarter.

Total revenues were $975 million, up from $969 million a year ago.

Total costs and expenses rose 3.2% from a year earlier to $930 million this quarter.
