President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial in the Senate is starting in earnest on Tuesday, with Democrats and Republicans expected to battle over the ground rules for the proceedings.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, the Kentucky Republican, has proposed a condensed calendar for the trial, raising objections from top Democratic lawmakers such as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.
