U.K. stocks finished down Wednesday, with the FTSE 100 Index (FTSE:UK:UKX) decreasing 0.27% at 7,515.75.
Of the FTSE 100 constituents, residential building construction company Persimmon PLC (LON:UK:PSN) saw the largest decrease Wednesday, as shares dropped 7.84%
Shares of software firm Aveva Group PLC (LON:UK:AVV) and passenger airlines company International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:UK:IAG) fell 5.40% and 4.80%, respectively.
ITV PLC (LON:UK:ITV) , a broadcasting company, and life insurance business Prudential PLC (LON:UK:PRU) rounded out the top five largest decreases as their stocks shed 4.27% and 3.98%, respectively.
Polymetal International PLC (LON:UK:POLY) , a general mining company, saw the largest increase of the FTSE 100 constituents, as shares rose 1.36% on Wednesday.
Shares of wholesalers firm Ferguson PLC (LON:UK:FERG) and alcoholic beverages/drinks company Diageo PLC (LON:UK:DGE) rose 1.06% and 1.05%, respectively.
BP PLC (LON:UK:BP) , a major oil & gas company, and tobacco firm British American Tobacco PLC (LON:UK:BATS) rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks rallied 1.03% and 1.00%, respectively.
The pound was down 0.54% against dollar (XTUP:GBPUSD) at $1.2033 and 0.48% against the euro at €1.1836.
Brent crude declined 0.4% to $91.97, and the yield on the 10-year gilt (XTUP:BX:TMBMKGB-10Y) declined 7.537 basis points to 2.289%.
