May 08, 2019 (Euclid Infotech Ltd via COMTEX) -- Volkswagen has opened pre-orders for the ID.3 electric hatchback in Europe. Buyers are offered a welcome version called 1st with an average battery and a price of less than 40 thousand euros (2.9 million rubles). Circulation will be 30 000 copies.

As they say in Volkswagen, the model ID.3 opens a new important chapter in the history of the brand after the Beetle and Golf. This is evidenced by the figure in the title, which also indicates that the model belongs to the third dimensional class (C) according to the European classification. The company identifies the letters ID with intelligent design, personality and advanced technology.

Orders for electric cars began to take in 29 countries in Europe. Volkswagen considers Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, France, the UK and Austria to be the most important markets for the model. On average, it is planned to sell at least 100 thousand ID.3 copies per year. To make an application, you need to make a deposit in the amount of one thousand euros, although it will be possible to confirm the order of Volkswagen only in April 2020. Up to this point, the deposit can be taken. Deliveries of cars to customers will begin in the middle of next year.

Volkswagen ID.3 will be equipped with an electric motor with a power of 170 horsepower. The capacity of the traction battery depends on the modification and is 48, 55 or 62 kilowatt-hours. Power reserve per charge - 330, 420 and 550 kilometers of the WLTP cycle, respectively. The initial version ID.3 will cost less than 30 thousand euros.
