Mar 25, 2019 (Euclid Infotech Ltd via COMTEX) -- DLA Piper represented China Ping An Insurance Overseas (Holdings) Co. Ltd. (Ping An Overseas) in entering into a definitive agreement to make an equity investment in the NASDAQ listed GDS Holdings Limited (GDS), a leading developer and operator of high-performance data centers in China. Ping An Overseas paid a subscription price of US$150 million for convertible preferred shares in GDS.

GDS is a leading developer and operator of high-performance data centers in China. The Companys facilities are strategically located in Chinas primary economic hubs where demand for high-performance data center services is concentrated.

DLA Piper registered foreign lawyer Alex Ye (Corporate, Hong Kong) and associates Shenglan Jin (Corporate, Beijing) and David Zhang (Corporate, Shanghai) worked on the transaction. Partners Alec Fraser (Corporate, New York) and Edward Johnsen (Corporate, New York) advised on the securities and financial regulatory aspects of the transaction.
