Costco Wholesale Corp. said late Wednesday its April sales rose 34% to $15.21 billion, with online sales slowing down from the early months of pandemic-fueled stockpiling.

Shares of Costco /zigman2/quotes/201191698/composite COST -1.01% fell 0.2% in the extended session after the sales news. The stock ended the regular trading day down 0.7%.

Online sales rose 21%, while total same-store sales rose 33%, Costco said.

Total sales in March rose 18%, and March online sales rose nearly 60%.
