Casper, the original bed-in-a-box juggernaut, is having a major Memorial Day sale. Through Tuesday, June 7, you can get up to $800 off Casper mattresse s by using the code MDAY22. And because sleep preferences vary for everyone, you can try your purchase out with Casper’s 100-night risk-free trial. The company also offers free, no-contact delivery, and a handful of mattress options, including the Casper Original mattress (made of memory foam) and several hybrid mattress options.
What reviewers say about the Casper Original Mattress: The Casper Original scores the No. 2 spots on both U.S. News & World Report’s list of best lower-priced mattresses of 2022 and best memory foam mattresses of 2022. A Wirecutter reviewer slept on the 11-inch Casper Original for about two weeks and says it’s a hit for sleepers who are looking for a shallower cradling. Starting at $805.50 for a twin with the current sale (it’s usually $895), the mattress boasts a dense non-memory-foam polyfoam layer on top that makes the mattress feel extra cushiony “as opposed to body conforming,” the Wirecutter reviewer writes. It also holds up “slightly better than the typical $1,000 mattress if you weigh under 200 pounds, and possibly even if you weigh more.”
Nearly 21,000 verified reviewers on the Casper website give the Original Mattress an average rating of 4.5 stars. “My sleep is like WHOA,” one reviewer writes. Another says the Casper Original is the “best mattress I’ve ever slept on, no kidding! From the delivery of the box to the magical unfolding of the king size mattress to the first time laying on the bed, all smiles here!” Honestly, my mattress doesn’t make me smile that much. Maybe this guy’s onto something.
And because buying a mattress can be a pretty big purchase, the 100-day trial is a big sell. One reviewer on the Casper site highlighted that despite returning the mattress, the customer service experience was exceptional. “I bought a Casper mattress. It wasn’t right for me. I’d still recommend them to anyone looking for a new mattress,” the reviewer writes.

The innovative Casper original mattress brings together a proprietary combination of materials to unlock your best night’s sleep. Zoned support helps align your spine and premium foam conforms to your body to alleviate pressure.
Other things to consider: If you are a big plush-mattress lover (guilty), this may not be the mattress for you. A side sleeping reviewer at Wirecutte r “found the mattress to be much too firm for him and not particularly comfortable for his back; when he first received the mattress it was so firm that it felt as if his bones cracked through the night.” While the bed will soften over time, it won’t necessarily “offer an ‘aaah’ kind of feel.”
