The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported on Thursday that domestic supplies of natural gas rose by 60 billion cubic feet for the week ended April 30. On average, analysts forecast an increase of 51 billion cubic feet, according to a poll conducted by S&P Global Platts. Total stocks now stand at 1.958 trillion cubic feet, down 345 billion cubic feet from a year ago and 61 billion cubic feet below the five-year average, the government said. Following the data, June natural gas was down a penny, or 0.3%, to $2.93 per million British thermal units. It traded at $2.94 shortly before the data.
