The entire 79th floor of the supertall, Rafael Viñoly-designed Manhattan tower 432 Park Avenue officially hit the market Monday for $135 million, Mansion Global has learned.
The more than 8,000-square-foot residence, designed by Japanese artist and architect Hiroshi Sugimoto , was marketed at the beginning of the year as a “whisper listing,” but no price was made public at that time. It’s the first time the home has been on the market since it was purchased from the developer in 2016 for just over $59 million.
Featuring five bedrooms, five bathrooms and two powder rooms, the floor-through condominium has “helicopter views” of New York City, including all of Central Park, the Hudson and East rivers and the Atlantic Ocean. It also boasts site-specific permanent installations by Mr. Sugimoto , according to the listing with Noel Berk of the Engel & Völkers Mercedes Berk Team.

“With its Zen philosophy and truly outstanding design, the property is a work of art in itself, offering a living experience that is second to none, in one of the world’s tallest residential buildings,” he said in a statement.
Mr. Sugimoto incorporated materials such as 1,000-year-old cedar wood, Japanese shikkui plaster and centuries-old stone slabs imported from Tokyo in the design of the residence, according to Engel & Völkers. He also designed “The Floating Inner Garden” for the home, which features two roughly 100-year-old bonsai trees between rectangular stones from Komatsu, Japan, which is known for its gemstones.
“Just as Central Park, which the windows overlook to the north, is one model of nature, I have further miniaturized that model to make a bonsai garden,” Mr. Sugimoto said in a statement. “Some day in the future, when we have lost all connection with nature, the bonsai garden in this space will remain as an image of nature as it once existed.”

The residence also offers custom furniture throughout, a traditional Japanese tea room, two private elevator landings, two adjacent studio apartments and additional storage units, according to the listing.
Located on Manhattan’s Billionaires’ Row, 432 Park Avenue is nearly 1,400-feet tall and has 30,000 square feet of amenity space, including a 75-foot indoor swimming pool and a fitness center, a private restaurant overseen by Michelin-starred chef Sean Hergatt , a library and a yoga studio. There are also concierge services, in-suite dining, an onsite parking garage and valet services.
The seller is a limited liability company. Mansion Global could not identify who is behind the LLC.
