Gold futures fell on Wednesday, giving back a portion of the gains seen a day earlier. Gold will continue to "consolidate" until this Friday's U.S. labor market report, said Edward Moya, senior market analyst at Oanda. "After Friday, Wall Street will have a good handle on when to expect the [Federal Reserve] to make a taper announcement," he said. December gold /zigman2/quotes/210039437/delayed GCZ21 +0.45% fell $2.10, or 0.1%, to settle at $1,816 an ounce after ending Tuesday up 0.3%.
