Nov 23, 2021 (WallStreetPR via Comtex) -- Grafana Labs is collaborating with (NAS:MSFT) to create a Grafana managed service on the Azure cloud platform. The deal bears similarities to another one the company made with Amazon Web Services in 2020. It has also added various observability, and monitoring features to the Grafana stack like the Enterprises Traces to collect trace data and alert management tools. The deal with Microsoft is to increase open-source Grafana adaption. It will also open up opportunities to the company and its partners.
The partnership will make Grafana widespread
According to Raj Dutt, the co-founder and CEO of Grafana Labs, the partnership with Microsoft is important for their business. The company hopes to use its partnership with Microsoft and Amazon to make Grafana offering widespread and meet customers' needs.
The Grafana data visualization and observability space are for creating visualizations and data dashboards for trace data, log, and metric that is generated using cybersecurity tools, networks, and IT infrastructure. It enables AppDev, and IT managers to track events, users, and system performance.
Services Grafana Labs offers
Grafana Labs provides the Grafana platform through the AGAPLv3 license as open-source software. It also offers Grafana cloud service editions with support services, training, and increased functionality.
Dutt adds that as IT becomes increasingly complex and distributed, observability software has become essential. The company is focused on helping people who run applications and websites by making them cost-effective, safe, reliable, and with high performance.
Duty has also pointed out that the software will be a first-party service rather than the offering being sold through the Azure marketplace. The same also goes for its partnership with Amazon. The company has also collaborated with Tencent Holdings Ltd (otcmkts:TCEHY) and Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (NYS:BABA)
Approximately 800,000 organizations use the company's software. Nearly 90% of these use the open-source, free version, while the rest use the commercial Grafana Cloud Editions and Grafana Enterprise St3ack.
As per its collaboration with Microsoft, Grafana Labs has created a service where businesses can run the software in the Azure platform, which will enable them to deploy scalable and secure Grafana instances easily. It also allows them to connect to third-party sources for analysis and visualization. The two companies will launch the service at the beginning of 2022.
