Numis Corp. reported Friday a significant rise in pretax profit for the first half of fiscal 2021, saying it delivered a record half-year revenue thanks to a strong performance across all of its business areas.

The stock brokerage posted a pretax profit for the six months ended March 31 of 39.3 million pounds ($54.6 million) compared with GBP7.3 million a year earlier.

Revenue increased to GBP115.4 million from GBP63.1 million, with investment-banking revenue more than doubling to GBP82 million from GBP36.9 million, it said.

The board maintained its dividend unchanged at 5.5 pence a share.

"The investment banking pipeline continues to benefit from a high volume of IPO mandates and the near term outlook for further growth capital solutions and merger and acquisitions revenues is also encouraging. We therefore expect the broad profile of investment banking revenues featured throughout the first half to be sustained in the second half of the year," co-Chief Executive Officers Alex Ham and Ross Mitchinson said in a statement.
