Vaccine makers lower after U.S. says it supports IP waivers

Vaccine makers Pfizer (NYS:PFE) , BioNTech (NAS:BNTX) and Moderna (NAS:MRNA) each traded lower by 3% to 5% in premarket trade on Thursday, following the announcement from U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai that the U.S. supports the waiver of intellectual-property protections on COVID-19 vaccines. Another maker of COVID-19 vaccines, AstraZeneca (NAS:AZN) (LON:UK:AZN) , was flat in London trade. Moderna also is scheduled to report earnings on Thursday.
