Controversial Bank of England chief economist to leaveAndy Haldane, the controversial chief economist of the Bank of England known for his optimism that the U.K. economy will accelerate, will be leaving the central bank after its June meeting, the central bank said Tuesday. He'll step down to become chief executive of the Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. Haldane has been with the Bank of England for over 30 years.
